Hey Florida Girls: Etiquette Boutique

Tucked away in the Harbor Shops in Fort Lauderdale lies the cutest little clothing boutique, Etiquette. I found the boutique after leaving a morning work out a few doors down from Orange Theory and knew I had to return. The windows are constantly changing with adorable new stylish outfits that make you want to stop in every day. From the minute you enter the shop, you are greeted with a friendly hello and an offer for some espresso or prosecco, hello, the sweetest addition to a shopping afternoon.

Mother and Son duo Nola and David Harris opened the shop in Fort Lauderdale after moving from Nashville, TN. Their Southern charm makes you wanting to come back weekly to see whats new. I was excited to see that most of the pieces range from $30 to $60, which is fantastic that it doesn't empty out your whole bank account. This is the perfect spot to find a little splurge for a new outfit for your next evening out.

I am absolutely loving these shorts with lace trim and the bird print.

Stripes and Peplum, yes, I meannnnn, this dress needs to find a place in my closet!

How about this little white lace mini dress for a bridal shower?

I purchased this little pink number and wore it to our Floridian Weddings event last week, $35 and it is the perfect new cocktail dress.

Make your way over to Etiquette boutique next time you are in Fort Lauderdale, it is my new favorite little shop.

Find on Etiquette on Facebook
Etiquette is located in the Harbor Shops, 1827 Cordova Rd, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316

Happy Weekend!

After a long week on the road I am HOME! We had a wonderful trip around Florida and I can not wait to share all of the fun we had, however, today I am glad to be home. I am catching up on emails, cleaning, cooking, relaxing and watching some Olympics fun! Friday evening I ordered pizza, bought us some English beers and watched the opening games. The scene from below was for sure one of my favorite parts of the opening games in London. Who is that handsome man driving a speed boat through London? Is that James Bond? Oh no, it is stylish, beautiful, international Soccer player, David Beckham! I mean really ladies & gents, did you not giggle when you saw that smile of his? Cheers to a fun Olympics games! Happy Weekend! xoxo~ Becca

Why hello Mr. Beckham! Is this really the opening ceremonies of the Olympics or a commercial for an action movie starring this good looking fella?

Check out our site to see what prettiness is along the way.

I will see you back here this weekend! Have a good week! xoxo~Becca

Happy Hour: Watermelon Basil Martini

It has been a really hot week here in Florida! I always feel like on these extremely hot Summer days, there is nothing like a lot of cold Watermelon to snack on, it is so delicious! I created this cocktail last week and stuck my feet in the pool and it was beyond refreshing. I hope you can enjoy a couple of them tonight. Happy happy Friday! xoxo~Becca

Wedding Wednesday: Mismatched Maids

I have been wanting to share my love of this idea for quite some time now. It wasn't until I was browsing around my Pinterest Board that I started to realize just how much I loved this concept....mismatched bridesmaids dresses! Why should you make your sisters, your best friends, your cousins, wear all of the same over priced dresses, that may sit in the back of their closet for years to come? How adorable do ALL of the ladies look below in a mix of dresses. I love that the shades are in the neutrals, grays and pink shades. What do you think of this look? I'm loving it!

The nice thing about allowing your bridesmaids to select their own dresses is that it does not make your friends spend a lot of money on a dress they may never wear again if they do not want to. I found the dresses below everywhere from Modcloth to J.Crew.

A Kissable Lip

I know that I may have mentioned this before, but yes, I am a total lipstick junkie. You can usually find about three to six tubes of pink lipstick and gloss in my purse, whatever, totally normal! Being that is  always Summer like weather here in Florida, I really try to make sure my lips have SPF on them. I will never forget the experience of burning my lips a few years ago, awful! Blister lips are not cute! So instead of grabbing your original sunscreen that gives no pretty color, I suggest these four pretty little tubes {yes, they have all found a place in my purse, oops}.

Speaking of Summer and Lip Stick, I had to share these adorable notecards I found over on Ashley Brooke Designs, as part of her Summer line. For a lipstick lady like me they would make the perfect Summer note to say Hi!

Cover your lips, make them pretty, use SPF! Blisters, yuck, smooth and kissable, yes! xoxo~Becca

Hey Florida Girls: Canine Beach

A few weeks ago Beau and I made our first trip to the Fort Lauderdale Canine Beach with Oliver and it was TOO cute! I do not know why we had not visited there before, we have been here for two years. Oliver was swimming away in the Atlantic Ocean like a pro. He was not a huge fan of jumping in by himself, but once Beau swam in, he was excited to chase him. It was pretty comical to see the other dogs running around in the beach, I felt like I was in a scene out of Marly and Me. Remember that one with Owen Wilson and Marly?

If you have a puppy you have to get down there one evening. The beach is located on A1A at Sunrise Boulevard. Friday, Saturday and Sunday only from 5pm to 9pm in the Summer and 3pm to 7pm in the Winter. You can either buy a $30 annual permit if you are a Fort Lauderdale resident {highly recommended} or for $7 a one time permit per dog. If you are going this way bring some spare change, they make you pay at a parking meter!

I can't WAIT to get back to the beach with my buddy to swim with him next weekend. Here is a little video taken with my favorite APP thank you to Sarah for introducing me. Enjoy!

Sunday Style: Beach Date Night

It is a rainy day here in Florida and Beau is working until late this evening, but I have a beach night on my mind. If it was warm and sunny and a clear night I would love a late dinner on the beach. A flowy dress, a big straw bag full of cheese and crackers, some yummy rose wine and all while laying on a blanket on the beach. I mean, it could be accomplished this week, don't you think?

Happy Weekend! ~ Happy Bastille Day!

Happy Bastille Day! France's independence day! An awesome excuse to drink lots of rose wine, eat some good cheese and baguettes and dress like a chic Parisian. I am so glad to be home with my two guys {Beau and Sir Oliver!} for the week until I leave again in 7 days. I am catching up on work since I have been away, planning our Floridian Weddings Road Trip and cleaning up. For now I might pour myself some bubbly and celebrate the French day while catching up on the blogs I have missed. Enjoy them! Ã€ la vôtre! xoxo~Becca

I'm loving the bridesmaids sunglasses in this shoot.

I am helping this adorable couple plan their wedding in October. Pretty fun engagement shoot in Miami no?

You know I'm into cocktails! Blackberry Gin Fizz anybody?

I think these free printable save the dates are adorable.

Some good advice for your wedding day.

I agree with Elizabeth's feeling of not knowing how to stay motivated some days. You?

It's Summer so feel free to rock some white!

Design Darling - The Boutique

I always love finding sites and shops where I can find personalized, small gifts to buy for hostess presents, birthdays or just because. I love giving friends monogrammed gifts for presents but do not want to spend a ton of money!  A few months ago when I saw Blogger Mackenzie Horan of Design Darling  open up an adorable e-boutique Design Darling, I knew I would have to share it with you! Perfect little treasures for your desk, dinner party, jewels to wear day and night,
it's a great place to visit!

I am loving these very Florida matches that would be a great addition to a guests Welcome Bag when visiting me in Fort Lauderdale!

I am completely in love with this monogram acrylic tray. The perfect addition to any house or perfect on my little growing bar!

Who doesn't want adorable items on their desk, it completely brightens the work day. I have been using  Le Pen's since I was a little girl buying that at the local Hallmark store! I have a hard time finding them in Fort Lauderdale and am glad to see Mackenzie is selling them in all colors.
Now really, these pencils, I think I need to buy a few packets and send them out as gifts. Favorite things pencils: cocktail rings, monogram, snail mail!
The perfect little monogrammed business card holder would be a perfect addition to any one's desk! Did I mention it is only $14!
I couldn't resist sharing this awesome bauble necklace.
The Dabney bauble is pretty fabulous isn't it.

Check out the rest of the Design Darling Boutique HERE! Happy Shopping!

A little sister time that will include helping with a yard sale {while sipping Moscow Mules} drinking coffee and window shopping and working with a great friend of mine at an event downtown Seattle, doesn't sound like a bad week does it? I am already missing my Beau and my little puppy for now, Au Revoir, I will be back soon!

Rebecca's Recipes: Olive Oil Cake

A few years ago my sister Katie shared this recipe with me and told me how simple and delicious it was, the perfect cake to make when guests are coming over. Well she was right, a few years later and I am still baking it for an easy sweet to have when company arrives. I made it here when my college Besties visited and I have made for several occasions since. It is a very easy cake to bake and lovely to have around the house to have a slice throughout the week with coffee after your guests leave. It also helps that your house will smell delicious afterwards!

Torta di olio di oliva - Servings: 12 ~ Recipe from my sister's blog here

3 eggs

1 1/4 cups sugar
3/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
3/4 cup milk
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 1/4 cups flour
pinch salt
1 orange, zested and juiced
1/2 cup pignolia, pine nuts
4 tbsp sugar, to top

Preheat oven to 350. Butter and flour a nine inch cake pan.Mix together all of the dry ingredients. In a large bowl, whisk eggs and 1 cup of sugar. Add olive oil, milk, juice and zest. Mix well. Add the dry ingredients and stir until smooth. Pour into prepared pan and top with pine nuts and remaining 1/4 cup of sugar. Bake for 40-50 minutes or until a tester comes out clean.

The cake is so moist and slightly sweet from the orange juice and especially a good quality olive oil.

Beau LOVES this cake! A big favorite in our house. Let me know how you like it! Happy Baking!

xoxo~Becca
