Happy Weekend - Sunday Reading!

Happy Sunday! We had quite the doggy Birthday party for Sir Oliver yesterday! Homemade puppy carrot cake cupcakes, homemade dog bones, 5 dogs, presents, lots of wine, pool time, it was fun! Now it is a beautiful Sunday here in Fort Lauderdale and all I want to do is lay by the pool, but I have lots to get done. I'm going to take a little break in the sun later and catch up on some blog time. Here are a few links I found throughout the week. Have a nice Sunday!

Laura and I had our first Floridian Weddings get together and it was so much fun! Laura made these amazing Orange Crinkle Cookies! They are delish!

This new paper collection is pretty amazing.

I visited this new boutique in Fort Lauderdale on Friday and love it.

How cute are these DIY place card ideas?

Just in time for the Mad Men premier tonight, a mod inspired photo shoot.

WOW, check out these baby animal prints, gasp, adorable! I must get one for all my expecting mama friends:)

So in love with both of these weddings this week. This surprise wedding and this Miami wedding!

Today starts a new day...

Well here goes..... today is my last day at my current job. Wow. It is pretty crazy to think that I moved to Florida almost two years ago. I have been working at this job since I moved from Washington D.C. and have been lucky to be part of a team of amazing women and a little bit like a little Florida family. However, after many long conversations with Beau and I, we know that life has been hectic and sometimes too much going on and sometimes missing the happy. So beginning tomorrow, there is a lot on the horizon for the two of us, me and Sir Oliver {had to include him!}. Everything is very exciting! I probably won't be blogging about it for a bit {sorry flip flop readers!} but it is exciting and I can't wait. So wish me luck and I can't wait to continue sharing my flip flops adventures ahead!

Wedding Wednesday: Chevron Stripe

How do you feel about incorporating chevron prints into your wedding? I have to say, I love it! A couple of weeks ago I saw this photo posted on Facebook from La Tavola Linens of their new sequin chevron stripe table runner and I about died. I must plan incorporate this into a wedding and soon! Isn't it gorgeous!

Below are a few other images of chevron stripes added into wedding that I absolutely love!

Featured: Chevrons & Stripes

What a great way to start the first day of Spring, putting together a guest post on the lovely blog Chevrons & Stripes . Sarah writes the cutest blog and has such a fabulous design eye! We met online through the Blogging Your Way Class we both took last year. Funny enough, even thought we live 40 minutes from one another, we have yet to meet in person...but a lunch date with cocktails is scheduled soon!

After many Gchats and the news of Sarah's engagement she asked me to guest post today while she was away in NYC celebrating her engagement! See the Bridal Shower Beach Party I put together over on Chevrons & Stripes.

Happy Spring!

Rebecca's Recipes: Homemade Thin Mints

It is that time of year, Girl Scout Cookie Time! Every time I go to the grocery store I have a hard time walking away from the sweet little girls selling those delicious Thin Mint cookies. This weekend I was craving some chocolate mint cookies and remembered an old recipe a girlfriend and I made awhile ago, homemade Thin Mints! They are so easy and very addicting:)

Ingredients:
1 - 10oz. bag of Andes Creme de Menthe Baking Chips
1 - Sleeve of Ritz Crackers {about 30 crackers}

Directions:
1. Melt the entire bag of Andes mints in a double boiler or shallow saucepan on low heat, stirring continuously. Do not fill pan to high with water.
You do not want the water to touch the bottom of the other pan.

2. One (or a few) at a time, dip the crackers into the melted chocolate, using tongs flip
them over so all sides are covered.

3. Remove and place on a baking rack. Allow cookies to cool for 30 minutes or until hard.
4. Transfer to a baking sheet or pretty plate and store in the fridge.

5. Pour yourself a glass of milk. Dip. Enjoy!

Happy Weekend! ~ Sunday Reading

Happy Sunday everyone! Yep, I am sitting in my backyard, laptop by the pool, typing away. I haven't posted a Sunday Reading post in awhile so I thought with all that is going on in my life {more to come on that} I would sit down, relax and share of of my favorite links from the week. It is absolutely gorgeous outside today. Sir Oliver and I are heading to the dog park, in between doing lots of work we are going to take some breaks to visit a new Fort Lauderdale boutique and maybe even sit in the some with some fro-yo by the beach! Happy Sunday!
I'm loving this post from You Are My Fave ~ stocking her dream paper shop, my dream also!

A beautiful wedding video always gives me the chills and gives me happy tears, this father of the grooms speech starts this video out so sweetly!

One of my favorite bloggers put together the cutest announcement to tell her exciting baby news!

Surprise engagements with a photographer hidden away to capture every moment are AMAZING, Beau, hint hint ;) hee hee.

I'm loving reading Sarah's new series of IT-Lists. It is always great to see into a bloggers real life and to be introduced to a new awesome blog.

I may need to make a batch of these salted chocolate chip cookies soon.

One of my favorite Florida Photographers captured the beautiful REAL bride we featured on Floridian Weddings entire wedding and it was amazing!!! Her dress was gorgeous and so was she!
Looking to redo my blog and put a lot of changes into I found this post really interesting, Curation to Creation.

Happy Sunday everyone! xoxo~Becca

Wedding Wednesday: Black Bridesmaids Dresses

Flipping through the new Martha Stewart Weddings Magazine last weekend I came upon this black lace Rachel Zoe dress and can not stop thinking of it. They suggested it as a bridesmaid dress and I just absolutely love the idea. I have always though allowing your girls to wear a mix of black dresses is such a great idea! Wouldn't this black dress be a great mix in with other black dresses?Add a bright pink flower and wow, a beautiful bridal party.

I love these bridesmaids below as well all dressed in their black dresses!

Oliver on Instagram

If you follow me on Instagram {my user name is: rldamato} then you will see that I quite often post pics of my little puppy, Sir Oliver of Leon! Funny how before we got our dog I never thought I would be one of "those dog people". Well, I've turned into the dog person, the dog mama, always talking about Oliver this and Oliver that. Whatever, I don't care...he rocks!
I put together the board above with some recent Oliver pics and it is actually so cute to see all of Oliver's adventures, I think he needs a little book. Oliver goes to the beach, Oliver takes a walk, Oliver plays dress up {OK or I dress Oliver up. wink wink}. Follow along on Instagram for more adventures my little cutie, Oliver!

Budget Beauty

I am quite the beauty junkie I guess you could say. A new lipgloss makes me happy {like I need another one, I have 100!}. Walking by Sephora tempts me to wander in and get a new shade of eye shadow. I keep a traincase full of my beauty treasures in the bathroom which Beau likes to say, wow, you enjoy doing that every day? Well whatever, make up I love it! So I decided to start a new series, Budget Beauty. While I love a new Chanel lipstick, my budget doesn't always allow it! First up, the one item I've been dying to try, the Clarisonic Mia Sonic Skin Cleansing System.
I have been wanting to buy this little Mia for probably a year. I read about it in all of the magazines and see it floating around on blogs as the essential cleaning tool. Can it really be that great? Do I really need a $110.00 face cleaner? I got a facial recently and even the facialist was like, oooo, yes, I can't live without mine. Ok, maybe! I envision my face glowing after I use the little pink Mia every evening.

Last week I was talking to some girlfriends and two of them said, Oh we love that but we have the Oil of Olay less expensive version. Less expensive? Oil of Olay? Something I can buy at Target? OK! The ProX Cleansing System is $26.99 which leaves me $92.01 to put towards other beauty products, savings maybe, a pair of shoes;)

vs.

Do you have either one? What are your thoughts?

Wedding Wednesday: And the Bride Wore PINK

I saw these photos on Style Me Pretty yesterday and I think I went Pinning crazy! Oh my, the brides pink dress I am head over heels in love with!!! When I was little and would play the game MASH, you know, the game where we predicted our future. Well, even 20 years ago I was thinking of weddings. I would have a category for wedding dress color and it always seem to fall on pink.
The dress and the shoes! I die!

This Vera Wang confection is so beautiful!!!!! IN LOVE!

Layers of blush, cotton candy like chiffon on the bride is gorgeous! hhhhmmm, will I wear pink some day? ;)

{Entire wedding posted HERE on Style Me Pretty and shot by We Heart Photography}

What a Week!

Well I know, I have been ignoring my little Urban Flip Flop readers and well, I apologize. I have had a crazy week that was unexpected but all exciting with lots of new things on the horizon. I sat down this morning and started thinking of making realistic to-do lists, not lists with 101 things I can not accomplish throughout the day. Do you ever feel that way, that you have so many things on a list you can't get it all done?

Hoping to get my list completed today so I can spend tomorrow with my Beau! yay! Finally a day off together after weeks!!!! I'll be writing more....I promise.

xoxo~Becca
