Afternoon tea, sigh. Afternoon tea is one of occasions that I absolutely love about living in London. Getting together with friends and drinking delicious tea & champagne {OK that is optional but who wouldn't want some bubbly}, chatting over yummy mini desserts and scones and often just enjoying hours of conversations for the entire afternoon. I truly love everything about afternoon tea. Back in October when I was at the Blog Awards I started chatting to Karen with Smashing the Glass about how we should really get together in person more often. As a blogger and event planner, we find ourselves sitting behind our computers for hours and hours and not making enough time to meet up in person. It may have taken us a few months later, however, last week we got together with some lovely bloggers at the amazing Sketch London for truly a treat in the Gallery Room.

When I have American friends who ask me if they should make time for afternoon tea when visiting London my answer is always, YES! There is nothing not to love about a few hours of catching up, drinking tea and eating delicious goodies. Sketch is such a unique venue for this! The tea was traditional but with a twist. Gingerbread macaroons, mini vegetarian croque monsieur {that they continued to bring out warm, and tied with a bow!}, blueberry eclairs, oh my, the tea was truly delicious. I decided to splurge and had not only a lovely pot of the vanilla tea, but also a glass of the champagne, why not! Afternoon tea should require celebrating with a glass of fizz, and served in a coupe glass of course.
I am sure it comes as NO surprise to you that the pink room in the Gallery is kind of like heaven to me! Right!?!?!?! You are actually able to hire this space out for weddings and events. You can find the details here on Coco Wedding Venues regarding wedding options, wouldn't this space be amazing!
The entire tea is served on David Shrigley ceramics that are oh so clever.
I have said it before, but nothing beats meeting up in person and talking about business and life! It was so nice to get to know these lovely ladies better and now be able to call them friends. From left: Claire from Bridal Musings, Me, Karen from Smashing the Glass, Alexandra from Bijou Bride, Nova from Nu Bride, Laura from Festival Brides. It was also so refreshing to meet up in person and not be surprised that these ladies are not who they are on their site, make sense? Sometimes you meet people and are surprised they are so different then the voice they have online. It was so nice to meet these ladies and chat about everything from weddings, babies, blogging, shoes, hahah, everything. We could have talked forever. Having just started my own business {incase you missed it head here!} it was really so nice to chat with other women business owners about their advice, their highs and lows. Creating a circle of wonderful inspiring women in your world is absolutely priceless I think.
If you head to Sketch, make sure to head to the lades room, wow, it is truly one of a kind!
I highly recommend Sketch for afternoon tea. It is such a nice difference from a traditional hotel tea. The place is, well, FAB! Enjoy!
