I can't stop smiling thinking of the beautiful memories we made in Italy during our honeymoon. Coming back to a hectic week, it has been nice to look back through photos and see the beautiful time we had after our wedding in the beautiful Italian coast! This is the last post of our ten day honeymoon on the Amalfi Coast {part 1, part 2, part 3}, our last stop, Capri! ……sigh.
We took the ferry from Positano to Capri, which is about 45 minutes and a great way to see the coastline. When you first arrive at Capri you are in a bit of the touristy area down by the marina, however, after taking the short ride up the funicular you arrive in the glamorous and beautiful centre of Capri! After staying on the island for a few days, I can understand why it was once a home to an Emperor.
Where We Stayed: Capri Tiberio Palace, located a 10 minute walk from the town square. We booked this glamorous hotel through Mr. & Mrs. Smith Honeymoon Specialists and couldn't have been happier about our choice! After seeing this stylish boutique hotel on the website, I knew we had to stay there! The hotel is in a nice quiet spot off the town centre. The hotel offers an amazing breakfast daily, a lovely pool and well, I can't say enough about our hotel room that welcomed us with delicious chocolate heart cakes, prosecco and other honeymoon treats. Thank you for making it such a special stay! Oh, and don't let me forget to mention the bar. The cocktails are delicious and the striped chairs and the decor made me feel like I was in an interior design magazine, loved it.
What We Did: We spent four days and three nights in Capri, wandering through the streets, taking a boat ride around the island, eating {a lot!} and relaxing by the pool and honestly taking in the relaxation time we had! We were also there during the World Cup so it was fun to watch the Italy game in the square {unfortunately they lost}, because the vibe was really fun!
Carthusia: make a stop at this beautiful perfumery! I bought myself a bottle of Via Camerelle and every time I wear it I will think of Capri. The store takes you back in time with old perfumery and such lovely service, they even customize the perfume scents for you.
The Blue Grotto: Yes, we did it. We did the most touristy thing in Capri, but hey, we couldn't leave the island without doing it and I'm glad we did! It may be pricey {30 Euros!} for us to take a 10 minute boat ride in the grotto, but it was gorgeous and glowing bright blue, with the silly Italian drivers singing, and being in their with my husband, I was a happy lady. Do it! We went on a boat ride for 3 hours and ended with this.

Antonio Viva : After heading to the Blue Grotto, make a stop in Ana Capri which is about a 15 minute bus ride from the centre of town. Ana Capri is the lovely older portion of Capri and a must see spot. I remember Camille Styles mentioned she got a pair of sandals handmade in the area and I made Mr. Beau stop, and I am so glad I did! Sandalo Caprese was amazing! Antonio has has the shop since 1958 and he is lovely! He has hundreds, yes, hundreds of sandal options and you can customize that as you wish. When he found out it was our honeymoon, he quietly ordered us bubbles from next door and then toasted to us for our wedding, it was such a lovely memory that I will never forget every time I wear my sandals. Stop BY!
Where We Ate:
Gelataria Capri - Right down the street from getting our sandals in Anacapri is the best gelato around! Down the street, on the left, can't miss it!
Da Giorgio - Pizza. We ate lunch there and each got a pizza, yes each. Not too expensive and a table looking out the window is hard to beat for lunch.
Aurora - A short walk from our hotel was the stylish restaurant, Aurora. We had not idea that it was quite a place to be! The wine list is forever long, the pasta is delicious, but be ready for "paparazzi" to be walking through the restaurant wanting to take every one's pics, kind of weird. The food though is really great and our server was lovely.
Capri Tiberio Palace - We ate dinner on the terrace one evening and loved it. Tired to go out, we decided why not enjoy dinner down the hall from our room, good decision.
Il Riccio - We stopped here after the Blue Grotto and it is quite a beautiful restaurant! I do have to say, for lunch, I felt it was a bit pricier then we wanted to spend, but for a splurge on dinner, yes, it would be a lovely spot. The fish is so fresh here and the view overlooks the water. It is a beach club, with lounge chairs and access to the ocean, but no pool, that was kind of a bummer.
Da Paolino Lemon Trees - This was my favorite restaurant in Capri. Dining under a grove of lemon trees was pretty romantic and fun. There is a room full of antipasto and a room full of desserts, I mean, it was amazing! Later on in the evening there was a live music {where we danced a bit and maybe worked off one lemon ravioli}. The place was quite busy but I really think it is a must go restaurant during your trip.
The table next to us ordered an assortment of one of each, my oh my, delicious.
Mr. Beau had a frozen lemon filled with a lemon sorbet and I couldn't get enough of the mini mini strawberries that they grow on the island, all over gelato. The mini strawberries tasted like candy, I'm determined to find them in London.
I wish I could snap my fingers and be back in happy land of Italy! Honeymooing, it was pretty nice with my Mr.! Thank you Italy, we loved you!
