Halloween

After six weeks of having visitors and two weekends of me being away....the house is finally quiet and I am home. I do LOVE dressing up for Halloween and have dreams of a huge Halloween party, however, this year I am going to spend my weekend cleaning our house and maybe baking some Halloween treats. Maybe I will put on a witch's hat to go with my black nails and say that's my costume.

Tomorrow is my first time passing out candy to kiddies at our new house so I'm looking forward to that. I even invited a girlfriend over to drink wine and pass out treats. Even though I dream of having a beautiful Halloween party like some of these belows, I think sitting on my front porch with a pretty pumpkin, a new friend and some wine will be a-OK. Happy Halloween!!!!

I love this Sweet Party from the Etsy Shop Posh Pixies Studio .

Martha you look amazing on this year's LIVING cover.

Ooooo. I love these glitter pumpkins. I made them one year and kept them until Thanksgiving.

So my sister Charity is having a Halloween BASH this year. She sent me this picture of the beginning of her decorating in the garage. Isn't it so FUN!!!! I can't wait to see more pictures to come.
What a pretty living room party....maybe next year!
Orange martinis and black liquorice. yes please.

hhhhmmm, now this party looks FUN! ...Happy Halloween!

Will I leave my heart in San Fran?

This weekend I am off to San Francisco. I have never been to this amazing city but for some reason I have always felt that I am going to love it SO much I may want to move there. The West Coast life but not the scene of L.A., the close drive to wine country, the great restaurants, the great people, culture, oooo, I can't wait!
Yesterday I was so happy to see Jordan post a beautiful party under the Golden Gate Bridge on her blog, Oh Happy Day. If you haven't seen her blog, you must check it out! Jordan set up a beautiful dinner for a few friends with Golden Gate Bridge in the background. I mean really, do you not die when you see it? LOVE!
Well I am off to San Fran tomorrow with my wonderful family. Can't wait to post all of the greatness of the city when I return.
Ummmm, I had to post the pic below! Remember this tv show in San Fran....

Full House! Maybe I can get a quick pic in front of the Tanner Residence.

An Inspiring Event

Last week there was an amazing inspiring event at the Breakers in Palm Beach...Engage10! Engage10 is a luxury business summit that gathers the creme de la creme in the wedding professional world for three days of speakers, networking and events. Created by the ladies at Engaging Concepts this event looks like a wedding professionals dream event.

I dream of attending this event with maybe a business of my own some year. The events looks inspiring and motivating! I follow a lot of the planners on Twitter and last week I could not stop drooling over the beautiful, fun pictures they posted from the event.

{The famous cake lady herself, Sylvia Weinstock, decorated a cake during lunch.}

{The amazing welcome reception was a beach inspired Lily Pulitzer party, i LOVE!}

{Abby Larson, the adorable Style Me Pretty founder and the amazing Mindy Weiss.}

{How adorable and personal is this lunch box! YUMMY is right!}

{Bryan Rafanelli, yes he planned Chelsea Clinton's wedding, spoke at the event. Rafanalli events is such a fabulous company based out of Boston. They create spectacular events.}

{I love this wedding panel full of the wonderful ladies: Darcy Miller of Martha Stewart Weddings, Abby Larson of Style Me Pretty, and Donna of Donna Newman Photography. What a fun talk!}

{Ok here is the moment where...I die! On the last night there was an evening soiree. In the center of the room they created a chandelier out of ribbons with champagne flutes. Waiters stood on stilts and would cut down a glass for you and fill it with bubbly. LOVE....THIS.....IDEA!}

{Check out the video from the conference. It was beautiful and inspiring! I was not able to be a guest but was so inspired by the Tweets and blogging. Thank you! I love the quote by Mindy Weiss in the video}

dreaming of Fall...clothes

I think that one of the hardest changes for me moving to Florida has been accepting the weather. The sunshine is beautiful and I know in January I will love it when I watch the news and see all of the snow up North. However, not having the leaves change colors and the air get chilly has made me sad. I absolutely LOVE the Fall season, I love everything about it! I realized recently why I was SO bored of my wardrobe, because I have been wearing the same clothes since May and do not see a reason to change out the closet to Fall clothes. Why? Well, it is still 85 degrees in Florida!
I put together a little outfit I would love to wear if I was walking around the city on a nice Fall day, Pumpkin Spice Latte in hand. I would add some nice black tights and some chunky jewelry and stroll around the leave lined sidewalks. It is different here, we have palm leaves on the ground.
The other day I broke down and pulled on some black tights (one of my favorite items of clothing! thick black tights). I think I was a little hot with the sun shining on me, but I do not care. I baked some pumpkin cookies today and lit my autumn spice candle. It smells like Fall in my house, now if there was only a reason to wear a heavy jacket and a scarf!

Martha. Oprah.

These two ladies.....

Miss Black Tennessee Beauty Queen

Glamour Magazine Fashion Model

In case you missed it this week, Martha Stewart was on the Oprah show on Tuesday. These two women, well I kind of love them. I DVR all of their shows, I read their magazines, I've been to Martha's show, I've stood on the stage near Oprah (hahaha, OK, she was on the other side of the curtain, I could hear her but never saw her, sigh. I DREAM OF ATTENDING HER SHOW!), you get it, I love them! So on Tuesday Miss Martha got all dolled up in her satin shirt and appeared on Oprah's last season!

All of the guests went away with her amazing Michael's crafts products! I love how Oprah was laughing at how excited Martha was about her corner punch. I was excited. I think I need one.

The Bloody Mary Bar was so fun. I have always said I am going to make my own flavored vodkas. They are so simple and easy to do, however I have never finished the project. After watching the show I think, "OK, easy, I need to do this". On the show the made a cucumber vodka which looked oh so refreshing!
That also set up a grilled cheese bar, genius, easy, must use!

The Oprah Show recreated Martha Stewart's craft cabinets.
The ribbon shelf, I die.

Martha's cookbooks, hhhmm, which don't I own???

If you have a chance this weekend, download the show and watch it. The two of these women have changed America in many ways. I loved the segment where Martha was showing Oprah how to properly fold fitted sheets. I remember 9 years ago being at Syracuse in the Auditorium watching Martha give a presentation and teach a college guy how to properly iron a shirt. I was so amazed that she got the entire audiences attention to do domestic work. She has certainly changed how we think of the domestic goddess.

Oprah, thank you for having her on your last season. By the way, if you have a few tickets left over for the final season, my and my sisters would LOVE to go:) Miss Oprah you have changed our lives !

Enjoy! xoxo~Becca
